Below are details of the current alias core group of contacts. These folk are the first port of call for new artists groups who are signed up for alias advice sessions. The core group also represents the steering committee that is taking the alias project forward in the future.
Paul Harper
I am a woodworker, living and working in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. My practice ranges from small private commissions to large public art schemes but has always been about a commitment to my material and to making. In addition to my making practice I have extensive experience in arts management.
Gill Nicol
Over the past 25 years, my career has spanned all aspects of arts and education, from exhibiting work and being an artist-in-residence, to lecturing and mentoring.
Julie Penfold
Julie was co-founder of artist-led group PVA in 1996 and is director of LabCulture Ltd an artist resource and multi-media studio space established 6 years ago.

Andy Whall
Artist, curator, climber and surfer. Andy originally from Cardiff now lives and works in St Ives, Penwith. Art practice mainly concerned with performance and live art collaborations. As a curator has brought 70 artists to the region in 8 years, mainly through the artist led group.
Annabel Other
In 1998 Annabel Other created The Bristol Art Library (the worlds smallest public lending library) and has consequently been Head Librarian ever since. Her projects have included the purchase and redesigning of the thinnest building in Bristol in collaboration with architect Sally Daniels as an event space.
Neil Walker
Neil is an artist based in Stroud, Gloucestershire. He is a founder member and project coordinator of the artist led initiative 'Stroud Valleys Artspace' which has just had its tenth anniversary. Projects include the Site Festival, Stroud Valleys Open Studios, Trial Pit Cinema, Resound and a major refurbishment of studios and project space at John Street in Stroud.
Helga Watkins-Baker
Helga trained in architectural stained glass, undertook postgraduate studies in kiln techniques for glass at Central St. Martin’s College, London, and an MA in Glass at Wolverhampton, specialising in kiln forming. She was awarded South West Arts’ annual Craft award in 1998 and the Worshipful Company of Glaziers’ award for research into architectural glass in America. She has completed numerous public and private commissions, most recently a large glass installation for the new Frome Hospital, commissioned by the NHS.
