Widcombe Studios

Widcombe Studios is a non-profit-making visual arts centre in Bath. It exists to support the visual arts within the community through the provision of affordable studio space, art classes, talks and exhibitions. The Studios, which were established in 1997, became a company limited by guarantee in 1998 and was granted charitable status in February 2004.

Originally located in a disused infants school in the Widcombe district close to the centre of Bath, the studios moved to new premises at Comfortable Place in December 2003. Currently there are 47 studios in all supporting painters, printmakers, sculptors, illustrators, photographers, stonemasons, ceramicists, textile artists and jewellers.

The Studios have grown in standing since their inception to become a central part of the artistic community in Bath, as well as the largest provider of art courses and studio space. The BANA (Bath Area Network of Artists) office is now housed in the Studios’ building.
