art iculate is an ongoing, artist led research initiative co-directed by Lucy Pedlar and Frances Bossom. We aim to investigate the mediation of art and the relationships between art making and learning through imaginative practical and critical approaches. To aid us in this work we invited 40 artists from around the world to make an artwork for articulate 1, our mobile resource space . This transportable collection continues to be used in a variety of different locations and contexts as a stimulus to discussion about contemporary art, and a starting point for participants to create their own work in response. Since forming in autumn 2001 articulate has accumulated an archive of work with a variety of individuals, groups and organisations including artist led projects, universities, schools and arts organisations including Station, 5x5x5, Stroud Valley Arts, Ikon Gallery, University of the West of England, Creative Learning Agency and Creative Partnerships.
