‘ArtDept…’ are interested in usurping and parodying the apparatus of power, in redirecting systems and structures and in questioning the validity of anonymous unaccountable Arts organisations that swallow resources. Our approach fuses a kind of textual neo - dada ‘absurdist’ critique of contemporary culture and the use of an apparently benign corporate advertising aesthetic.

Rebecca & Ian co founded artists group Artdept in 2002, 'Artdept' have exhibited at the Newlyn Orion gallery - alias Platforrn, 2003, and at Live Art Falmouth, 2007 and curated 'Ignition' Live Art/Digital show at the Acorn Theatre Penzance, 2004. We are currently working with Alexandra Zierle, Paul Carter to organise an alias re-launch event for December 2007. The event is intended to offer a platform to local alias artists and guests to show work and to come together to discuss and hopefully influence the future of alias as it transitions from an Arts Council England offshoot to independence.
