Founded in 1927 the Society is the most well-established artists' group of its kind in Cornwall. The Society's landmark building, the former Mariners Church is home to two galleries. In the Main gallery there is a varied exhibition programme including the Members' Spring, Summer and Autumn Shows, The Newlyn Society of Artists, The Porthmeor Studios' Artists, Spontaneous Combustion 2 and the September Festival Open and a Life Open in December (see website for entry details). To celebrate its 80th anniversary there is a special celebratory Members' Show in the Mariners Gallery (beneath the main gallery) until the end of September.
