Spike Print Studio (formerly Spike Island Printmakers) in Bristol is the largest print open-access studio in the South West. Its mission is to provide exceptional resources, inspiration, training and space for artists and by doing so, to advance printmaking. The studio is open to anyone with any level of experience and provides 24 hour access to keyholder members. All are welcome and there are currently 135 members.

It provides exceptional resources for traditional printmaking processes such as intaglio, relief and screenprinting, maintaining the existing equipment to a high standard and re-investing any profits of the organisation in new and enhanced facilities. It offers inspiration for printmaking by working with visiting artists to Spike and other cultural organisations in Bristol. It has strong links with other organisations (Arnolfini, Watershed, UWE) and participates in local, national and international art events and projects. It provides training in new and traditional processes by means of a mixed programme of courses and workshops in techniques, which are open to all.

Spike Print Studio also has an Editioning facility and has recently made Limited Edition prints with Richard Forster, James Ireland, Mariele Neudecker, Wood&Harrison and Sonia Boyce.

Spike Print Studio is located within the Spike Island Artspace building on Bristol?s South Harbourside. Spike Island is an international arts centre, combining working and exhibition space for the contemporary visual arts. Spike Print Studio is a licencee of Artspace, renting low cost premises in the building. However, Spike Print Studio is an independent organisation, a not ?for-profit company limited by guarantee.
