Curated and run by Marilyn Middlemiss & Louise Fox, the Salt Gallery is a small, artist-led space in Hayle, Cornwall. Set up in 2004, it is Cornwall's only dedicated independent installation space, which showcases installations and video. The front room projects aims to show a mix of artists working locally, nationally and internationally from the new graduates to established artists.
Our current funded project "women in the front room" connects the domestic space with the public space and is used for symbolic events - We have chosen 5 female installation artists because connecting the public and private is often a key facet of women's lives and their work reflects this.
