 Stroud Valley Arts  

Stroud Valleys Artspace is an artist-led initiative and non profit-making organisation whose aims are to establish and develop a practical, supportive framework in which artists can work without undue financial pressure. By raising the profile of artist and their work, we aim to achieve greater understanding, increased and active participation in the visual arts. SVA's main objectives are the provision of open access, low-cost artists workspace, an equipment resource and an artist's information and support network and the main areas of activity are:

Re.source
SVA has a developing information and I.T. equipment resource centre for artists within the region and artists working on Re.projects. There will be an emphasis on information technology skills training workshops, developing our county wide artist network data base and an international artists exchange programme

Re.projects
A multi-functional space in which the elements and ideas of contemporary art practice can be created and curated. see > Re.projects.org

The Hub Musicians Collective
music and sound art resouce, rehersal studio, open mike events, projects and performances. Including the annual Resound weekend. see > Resound 04

Site Festival
an anual celebration of the visual arts for the Stroud Valleys. In 2004 the work of over 250 artists was presented in over 80 sites during the whole of June including artists' open studios, exhibitions, events and workshops. see > Site04

Community & Education
SVA undertakes a variety of educational projects involving schools and the wider community. In addition to wide ranging arts skills we have extensive experience of teaching and coordinating projects in a range of educational settings.
