Kangaroo Kourt was originally set up as a DIYart-space located in a residential street in North Bristol in 2002. Showing many local artists, it created a new social focal-point for artists of varied ages and social backgrounds. It has evolved into the public face for a network of artists working across artistic environments created within residential, street, stage, reclaimed, disused, donated and rented spaces.

Kangaroo Kourt has no existing written manifesto, except the belief that art is a ‘doing thing’ and as such has helped generate a thriving DIY art scene in Bristol and Bath.
