Devon Artists Network

Devon Artist Network (DAN) is an artists’ membership organisation open to visual artists and makers living and/or practising in Devon. DAN grew out of the STRAW project (Skills Training Rural Arts Week), which organised two highly successful Open Studios events in 2000 and 2002 (Nine Days of Art) and associated professional development initiatives for artists. STRAW changed its name to DAN in 2004 to reflect a new focus as a network and membership organisation.

Devon Artist Network creates opportunities for visual artists and makers, enabling them to promote and develop their practice and encouraging a wide range of audiences and participants for their work.

Our aims are to:

Develop audiences for Devon artists through profiling their work and practice.

Provide a range of specific and responsive networking opportunities for our membership

Provide relevant targeted information and advice.

Facilitate professional development opportunities in partnership with key regional partners.

Advocate for artists in Devon with decision makers, funders and audiences.
