Brunel Broderers

The Brunel Broderers are a group of artists based in the South West of England who work in a variety of textile media and methologies.

The group has built up a following within the textile world in challenging expectations of a medium traditionally called ‘embroidery’. Today their work defies a neat title, encompassing as it does a diverse range of approaches, methods and materials to create a series of ideas for thematic schemes and exhibitions.

The group meet on a regular basis, holding workshops and providing a network of support and a forum for discussion.

Having been successful in applying to the alias scheme,they have been assisted in this process by contact with Annabel Other and Andrew Mania, working wiht whom was an enriching and
thought-provoking experience, showing us ways in which we could explore different areas of our practice and look again at the whole concept of showing work.
