June 2008 - The Creative Footprint  

With ecology increasingly taking central stage in all areas of life it is important for the visual arts re-examine their 'footprint' in this context. The discussions will outline areas of research and
practice with speakers providing artistic and theoretical perspectives on this burgeoning area of interest. This symposium aims to develop artistic and public awareness of the diversity of
debates and practice within the visual arts as well as a networking opportunity.

Panel discussion members will be :Shelly Sacks (Social Sculpture Research Unit) and Neville Gabie (Artist in Residence British Antarctic Survey 2008/09) with leading arts consultant Lesley Greene (Trustee,Forest of Dean Sculpture Trust) be chairing the discussion.

Lesley Greene and artists :Simon Ryder (Elixir, Art Nucleus), Tara Downs (Roving Studio), Dr Daro Montag and Gavin McClafferty (Last Gallery) will also be giving presentations.
