This seminar is aimed at craft practitioners from the South West.
Self curation has become an established practice for artists, a process which requires negotiation between gallery, artist and professional curator.
The seminar will cover these aspects with particular reference to craft practice and will explore the potential of the collectively curated exhibition. The speakers are all well-known makers with wide experience of curating between them.
Speakers:
Jenny Wilkinson: textile artist, Devon Guild Member and one of
the curators of the Carpe Diem exhibition
Helen Carnac: metalworker, enameller and lecturer in silversmithing and jewellery, London Metropolitan University
Lesley Millar: Reader in Contemporary Craft Practice, University College for the Creative Arts at Farnham
